June 25th, 2025, marks the birth of a new ERIC – the 32nd European Research Infrastructure Consortium

The newest addition to the ERIC family is DANUBIUS-ERIC – the Leading International Organization for DANUBIUS-RI, serving as the International Centre for Advanced Science on River-Sea Systems. Significantly, it is also the first ERIC to be hosted by Romania.

Its creation has been a journey spanning over 10 years, to which the Romanian and European team of DANUBIUS-RI has dedicated huge amounts of time, energy, and passion.

In a century marked by water scarcity and increasingly frequent extreme events, DANUBIUS-ERIC stands as a vital investment in understanding and managing the complex dynamics of river-sea systems—offering science-based solutions for a more resilient and sustainable future.
